The NRCS is hosting public webinars on funding opportunities through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which was recently signed into law by President Joe Biden.
The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act touts $500 billion in new spending over the next five years. The Farm Bureau-supported bill provides funding for watershed programs available through the NRCS, which aim to help communities recover from the impacts of natural resources. Programs include:
- Watershed and Flood Prevention Operations Program;
- Watershed Rehabilitation Program;
- Emergency Watershed Protection Program.
Funding will be available for both new and existing projects. To help prepare eligible sponsors, NRCS is hosting public webinars on Dec. 6 and Dec. 7. No registration is required. People interested in attending either webinar should simply click the appropriate link:

The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act includes $110 billion in funding for U.S. roads and bridges, $65 billion for broadband, and $17.3 billion for ports and inland waterways. Pennsylvania, specifically, is expected to receive $11.3 billion for federal-aid highway apportioned programs and $1.6 billion for bridge replacement and repairs over five years. Pennsylvania will also receive a minimum allocation of $100 million to help provide broadband coverage across the state.
