After needing to take a two-year hiatus with in-person events, Pennsylvania Farm Bureau’s Political Action Committee is excited to again host our popular fund-raising dinner. This year, we are celebrating the spirit of bipartisanship found within agriculture and is the foundation of our FARMER PAC.

Join us on March 29 at the Harrisburg Hilton for a conversation on agriculture and the environment with Sens. Gene Yaw and Carolyn Comitta, who chair the Pennsylvania Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee. Yaw, a Republican from Lycoming County and Comitta, a Democrat from Chester County, represent rich agriculture areas, serve on the Senate Agriculture & Rural Affairs Committee and understand the unique connection between agriculture and the environment. This moderated discussion will explore the current challenges faced by Pennsylvania and ways that Pennsylvania agriculture could play a leading role.

This event will raise money that FARMER will use to support a slate of candidates seeking election to the General Assembly. Every two years, FARMER identifies candidates with a demonstrated record of supporting agriculture. Farmers truly have friends in Harrisburg, and our PAC is a great way to give them thanks for their steadfast support for our industry.

FARMER is a political action committee (PAC) operated by the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau since 1981. It solicits monies from interested parties to elect “friends of agriculture” to the state General Assembly.

FARMER reviews candidate’s voting records on agricultural issues, as well as their personal philosophy. It seeks the opinion of county Farm Bureaus and individual FARMER members and contributes to candidates on a bipartisan basis. FARMER is the only PAC owned and controlled by farmers in Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania campaign law does not allow FARMER to accept corporate contributions. All members receive FARMER information and have the opportunity to input the candidate selection process.
