Members Show Value of Farm Bureau at Prestigious Equine Event

Chester-Delaware County Farm Bureau and Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, in cooperation with Maryland Farm Bureau, were sponsors of the inaugural Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill. One of only two 5 Star level events in the United States and just the seventh worldwide, the Maryland 5 Star took place Oct. 14-17 at the newly constructed Fair Hill Special Event Zone in Elkton, Maryland.

Members of the Chester-Delaware County Farm Bureau were on hand to talk with attendees and share the value that Farm Bureau provides for the equestrian community and horse breeders in Pennsylvania. Members distributed pamphlets outlining some of Farm Bureau’s accomplishments, including broad civil liability protection for farms that interact with the public and highlighting the ongoing efforts such as fighting for vital funding for the state’s agriculture industry, including animal health services and disease surveillance, and ensuring continued state funding vital for horse health.

The event’s prestigious 5 Star designation is the pinnacle of the Olympic sport of Eventing, often described as an equestrian triathlon. The four days of Eventing competition featured Dressage, Cross-Country, and Show Jumping.
