Listen to your local radio station for the friendly women voices of Barb and Cathy as they feature good tips and announcements of upcoming events.
The Board of Directors of the Bradford/Sullivan County Farm Bureau volunteer their time, energy and resources to educate themselves often while running their own farms. Directors are educated on the history of Farming and land ownership and the current issues that are impacting their assigned townships. They volunteer to be your networking agent to connect you, the individual person or township, to a higher level that hears your concerns and put action to a solution for your problem. Directors meet monthly for regular business but more often several times a month to attend state and committee work meetings to represent their local memberships needs to state and national level of the Farm Bureau.
Find out who is covering your township and speak with them. They may be calling you to invite you to participate in up coming election or affairs that you as a member of the community can support.
Spring and Fall Meeting/ Dinners are open meetings in which you will be able to hear a personal account of what we your Board of Directors do at the state and national level to bring your land owner and farming issues to law makers on the grass root level. Our political leaders often attend to hear the local perspective from members who have a real passion about the property and their freedom of usage. Attending or at least calling your townships Farm Bureau Board of Director to let them represent your viewpoint is always a way of participating in shaping laws that may impact your land and waterways.
