
Mike Mowrer is a senior member of Mowrer Farms LLC, a 400-cow dairy operation in Huntingdon County. Mowrer farms 1,600 acres of corn, hay, soybeans and small grains with his son, Nathan. Mike is part of the sixth generation to farm Mowrer Farms.
Mowrer is a long-time member of Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, with membership dating back to 1972. Mowrer was a member of Chester/Delaware County Farm Bureau until 1990 and has been a member of Huntingdon County Farm Bureau ever since. Mowrer currently is serving as Huntingdon County’s Vice President and served many years as the county’s membership chairman.
Outside of Farm Bureau, Mowrer is a member of the Huntingdon County Holstein Club and is the Treasurer of the Huntingdon County Dairy Promotion Board.
In the community, Mowrer has served as a township supervisor, as a member of the Huntingdon County Extension Board and he currently serves on the Huntingdon County Conservation District Board. He is a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church and previously served as a past trustee and elder.
Mowrer has received many awards for his contributions to the dairy industry, including the Huntingdon County Holstein Club Outstanding Contribution Award and the FFA Outstanding Service Award.
Mike is a 1972 graduate of Owen J. Roberts High School. He and his wife, Janet, have been married for more than 50 years and have raised three children together – Nathan, Rebecca and Abby. Mike and Janet have nine grandchildren.
