Pennsylvania Farm Bureau Welcomes New EPA Regional Administrator

Pennsylvania Farm Bureau President Chris Hoffman commented today on the announcement that President Donald Trump appointed Amy Van Blarcom-Lackey as EPA’s Mid-Atlantic (Region 3) Regional Administrator.

Van Blarcom-Lackey will oversee the implementation of federal environmental laws and priorities of the administration’s agenda in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., West Virginia and manage the EPA’s Chesapeake Bay Program.

“Pennsylvania Farm Bureau (PFB) congratulates Amy Van Blarcom-Lackey on her appointment as EPA Regional Administrator for the Mid-Atlantic,” Hoffman said. “Agriculture producers of all commodities and sizes are working voluntarily day in and day out to improve our air, water, and soil quality.

We look forward to working with the new Region 3 Administrator to continue and build upon the productive conversations we had with her predecessor. It is important for farmers and EPA to work as a team to ensure that agriculture can continue to succeed while also protecting our shared environment. Open communication and a practical approach are essential as we navigate the important intersection of farming and environmental stewardship. Again, we congratulate Regional Administrator Van Blarcom-Lackey and look forward to working with her in her new role.”
