Pennsylvania Farm Bureau President Chris Hoffman commented today on President Donald Trump’s commitment to prevent labor disruptions in the American food supply.
“We’re grateful for President Trump’s comments yesterday acknowledging the critical role farmworkers play in feeding America and his commitment to ensuring our family farms can continue to deliver upon a fresh and affordable food supply.
“The agricultural workforce is stretched to its limits, leaving farms with limited options before they’re forced to cut jobs and production, or, dreadfully, sell their land. No one wants this as it risks our food and national security, which the President addressed.
“We look forward to working with the White House on long awaited solutions to secure our food supply and strongly urge Congress to build on the President’s initiative by permanently fixing our outdated and broken farmworker programs.”
