Marty Yahner is a sixth-generation beef cattle and grain farmer in Northern Cambria County. Yahner and his brother Rick own and operate Yahner Brothers Farms, where they grow corn, soybeans, oats, wheat, and hay on 2,600 acres and feed 450 steers annually. The farm has been in the family since 1839.

Yahner is a longtime member of Farm Bureau, having volunteered in the organization in many roles since 1985, including County Government Relations Director and Legislative Committees since 1990. Yahner has served on the Cambria County Farm Bureau Board of Directors since 1985 and he is currently serving as President.

He was PFA YF&R Committee Chairman from 1988-1990, Livestock Committee Chairman from 1990-1998 and served on the PFB Board of Directors from 2008-2016 and on the Executive Committee from 2010-2016.

He has also served at the Federal level, having served on American Farm Bureau Federation’s Swine Advisory Committee from 1993-1997, the Feed Grains Advisory Committee from 2005-2009, and Chairman of the Energy Advisory Committee from 2014-2018. He served as a Voting Delegate at the AFBF Annual Meeting from 2012-2016.

In 2016, Yahner was honored with the 2016 Mid-Atlantic Master Farmer Association Award.

Off the farm, Yahner is a member of Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church in Patton.

Yahner resides on the Yahner homestead that was built in 1870 near Patton with his wife Chris. They have two children, Brianna and Travis.
