Pennsylvania Farm Bureau President Chris Hoffman commented today on USDA’s announcement to provide financial relief for Pennsylvania farmers until the benefits of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act reach their farms.

“We are grateful to President Trump and USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins for securing resources that will make a difference for Pennsylvania farmers as the look to continue their operations.

Our farmers have been hit with plenty of economic hardships, and they face the same high prices that all Americans face, with more of their income going toward household expenses. Farmers are also experiencing higher input costs, including loans, equipment, and supplies. At the same time, farmers are experiencing historically low prices for most major crops – in total, farmers are expected to lose $34 billion in 2025.

We appreciate that Congress has addressed many economic challenges through legislation this year, but many farm program improvements will not kick in until 2026. The resources that the White House announced will have an immediate impact and they provide a lifeline for farmers who work to each and every day to feed their neighbors and to ensure Americans have access to a healthy, safe, and plentiful food supply.”
