Paul Moya

A proud farm boy, former National FFA President, Paul Moya, nicknamed the “Harvard Cowboy” turns his old-fashioned cowboy wisdom into practical solutions for organizational change. 

Paul’s cowboy wisdom has given him the ability to become the Founder & CEO of Millennial Labs, Inc. Paul’s work across generations, cultures, industries, and continents has developed real world case studies and behavior economics to solve generational challenges in the workplace, marketplace, and voting booth.

Colonel Tom Vossler

Colonel Tom Vossler portrait on the farmColonel Tom Vossler, U.S. Army (Retired) served thirty years active duty in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1998. He commanded an infantry platoon of forty men in combat during the Vietnam War and a mechanized infantry-armored battalion task force of 1,200 U.S. and German soldiers in Germany during “the Cold War” prior to the fall of the Soviet regime in the late 1980’s. Tom holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Pennsylvania Military College and a Master’s degree from Georgia State University. His military education includes graduation from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and the U.S. Army War College.

In the latter part of his Army career, Tom taught military history, strategy and leadership at the U.S. Army War College and he is a former director of the U.S. Army Military History Institute at Carlisle Barracks, PA. Since 1998 he has worked as a Licensed Battlefield Guide at Gettysburg where he specializes in battlefield studies and leadership seminars for the U.S. military as well as military units from Germany, the United Kingdom, France, and Canada.

Four published books on Gettysburg and the American Civil War include: “The Gettysburg Campaign” with Carol Reardon, published by the U.S. Army Center of Military History and the award winning “A Field Guide to Gettysburg”, with Carol Reardon, published in 2013 by the Univ. of North Carolina Press with 2 nd edition published in 2017. Using the same format as the popular Gettysburg field guide, “A Field Guide to Antietam” (Sharpsburg, Maryland), now in second printing, was published in September 2016. A fourth book, Battle Tested – Gettysburg Leadership Lessons for 21st Century Leaders, with co-author Jeff
McCausland, was published in, 2020.

Tom and wife Barbara (high school sweet-hearts) are natives of Wellsville, Allegany County, in western New York State sixty miles southeast of Buffalo. With nineteen household moves in thirty years of Army life, since 1999 they have owned and operated the sixty-acre Mountain View Farm just west of the Gettysburg Battlefield and 1.4 miles from the battle’s “first shot” marker.

For 23 years from 1999, they raised purebred and registered Simmental beef cattle on the farm specializing in the production of bred heifers, cow-calf pairs and breeding-age bulls for sale in a North American (USA and Canada) herd replacement market. They are the breeders and owners of the 2009 U.S. National Grand Champion Simmental Bull, MVS Maximus, the lead herd sire at Mountain View Farm until his passing in the spring of 2022 at fifteen years of age.

Daryn Westergard

AFBF PE Committee member Daryn WestergardDaryn has had a passion for farming since birth. He grew up on a 100-cow Jersey dairy farm. When the family sold the dairy farm in 2013, he started working for a 1,300-cow dairy farm that included 1,500 acres of crops. In 2018 he started a trucking business that hauls milk from four local dairies to the local cheese plant.

He has been active at the county and state level with Promotion & Education committees. His county created a P&E committee before the state did, and he enjoys the opportunity to work on events that have consumers and farmers building relationships and talking face-to-face. His county Farm Bureau created FARMFEST where they take the farm to the streets of downtown Ogden and meet their urban friends where they live and work.

Daryn has served as a County President and as a member of the state’s Ag Promotion Committee for Utah Farm Bureau since it was formed in 2016. He has worked on several successful programs including the Legislator’s Spouse Tour, Focus on Ag at the Utah State Fair, and an Ag Scavenger Hunt at college campuses.

Daryn is a committed Farm Bureau member and believes in connecting state chairs with coordinators, sharing ideas, solving problems, identifying trends, and making sure agriculture is portrayed positively in the eyes of the public. He believes that developing strategies to answer hard questions from consumers is the key to fostering relations and developing good communication.
