We will be offering educational activities for children of all ages at annual meeting. Children will have fun while engaging in interactive, hands-on activities. Please use the “Individual and Family Annual Meeting Registration Form” to registering your child/children. You may also purchase children’s meals on that form.

In addition to the sessions, there will be a scavenger hunt that children can complete during annual meeting with their families.  Be sure to stop by the registration desk for the kids’ packet which will also have some fun puzzles form them to complete.

Tie-Dye Milk

Grades K-2
8:45 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

Presenter: Paula Shoop, PA Friends of Ag Foundation

What’s in a drink?  Attendees will conduct an experiment to determine the fat content of two different types of milk.  Nutrition labels are then examined to determine the amounts of fat, calcium, and vitamin D present in various beverages to encourage students to identify and select healthy drinks.

AgBadging Field Guide

Grades 3-5
2:00 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.

Presenter: Paula Shoop, PA Friends of Ag Foundation 

Attendees will receive NAITCO ‘s AgBadging Field Guide that will lead them through an exploration of agriculture. They will complete the Build A Barn activity to get a jump start on earning their first badge.  The Field Guide can be taken home and has five additional badges that can be earned.

See a preview of our 2024 Ag Literacy Week Book of the Year, “Anywhere Farm”.  This book allows children to explore the different options one can plant a farm- from a box or bucket to a pan, almost anything can be turned into a home for green, growing things. Windows, balconies, and front steps all make wonderful spots to start. After all, anywhere can be a farm—all it takes is one small seed and someone to plant it.
