The 29th Annual Richard Prether Golf Classic, the Pennsylvania Friends of Agriculture Foundation’s major fundraiser, is coming up Monday, June 14. The outing will return this year to the Hershey Country Club, West Course.
The foundation, a charitable organization affiliated with Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, carries out the mission of preserving and promoting agriculture. Since 1993, the annual event has raised more than $960,000 to help support agriculture education outreach through the foundation’s many programs including the Mobile Ag Ed Science Lab, Ag on the Go, Educator’s Ag Institute, Ag Literacy Week, scholarship programs, and other outreach events.
The tournament will be conducted as a four-person scramble and will be held on its scheduled date, rain or shine. The shotgun start will be at 12:30 p.m.
The cost of the golfing package is $175 per person and includes greens fees and cart, driving range privileges, lunch, refreshments on the golf course, gifts and dinner. There will also be golf contests, including a beat-the-pro contest with Rachel Rohanna, a Pennsylvania farmer and LPGA pro golfer. Sponsorship packages are available that include multiple golfers, special recognition and other perks.
The deadline for reservations is June 1. Be sure to reserve your foursome early since space is limited to 124 golfers. To make your reservation or to learn more about sponsorship opportunities, click here or contact Natalie Slembarski at 717.731.3555 or NASlembarski@pfb.com.
