FARMER Endorsements for 2024
“Farmers Allied for Responsive More Effective Representation”
FARMER, the political action committee of Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, met on July 10, 2024, to select candidates for endorsement in the 2024 Pennsylvania general election. Candidates are scored on their voting record on Farm Bureau legislative priorities, and evaluations from county Farm Bureau’s. As a bipartisan PAC, candidates’ political party is not weighed in the committee’s decision.
The FARMER Committee consists of eight Farm Bureau members selected by geographic regions, and a committee chairperson. FARMER is funded entirely by voluntary contributions that are independent from Farm Bureau membership dues.
This year, FARMER is proud to have selected 155 individuals seeking election in the House of Representatives and 19 individuals seeking election to the state Senate.

FARMER will be hosting its annual fundraising dinner on Monday, March 25, at the Harrisburg Hilton.
This year, we are upping the ante and bringing in the This Week in Pennsylvania (TWIP) team for a lively discussion. The crew, hosted by award-winning political reporter Dennis Owens, will share their thoughts on the current political climate in the Commonwealth and give their predictions on the outcome of the heated 2024 elections. TWIP airs Sundays across the state and brings together a unique slate of opinions traversing the political spectrum. They’ll also provide a behind the scenes glimpse of how a top-notch weekly TV show is produced. You won’t want to miss it!
FARMER will use the funds raised from this event to support a slate of candidates seeking election to the General Assembly. Every two years, our PAC identifies candidates with a demonstrated record of supporting agriculture. We truly have friends in Harrisburg, and FARMER is a great way to thank them for their steadfast support of our industry.

What is FARMER?
FARMER is the only political action committee (PAC) led by farmers in Pennsylvania, and all contributions go to support members of the Pennsylvania General Assembly who are strong supporters of agriculture. Operated by the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau since 1981 FARMER solicits monies from interested parties to elect “friends of agriculture” to the state General Assembly.
FARMER reviews candidates’ voting records on agricultural issues, as well as their personal philosophy. It seeks the opinion of county Farm Bureaus and individual FARMER members and contributes to candidates on a bipartisan basis.
Pennsylvania campaign law does not allow FARMER to accept corporate contributions. All members receive FARMER information and have the opportunity to input the candidate selection process.
