Susquehanna County Farm Bureau Top Award Winner at Pennsylvania Farm Bureau’s 61st Annual Meeting
(Hershey) – The Susquehanna County Farm Bureau won five awards, including the prestigious “60 Years and Growing Award” during Pennsylvania Farm Bureau’s Annual Meeting in Hershey. The 60 Years and Growing Award is the highest honor bestowed upon a county Farm Bureau among Pennsylvania’s 54 county Farm Bureaus.
Susquehanna County was also recognized for earning the Overall Achievement Award for county Farm Bureaus with up to 400 farmer members. The Award salutes a county Farm Bureau for its outstanding performance in the six program areas evaluated by Pennsylvania Farm Bureau (PFB). In addition, Susquehanna County won President’s Award in the areas of Leadership Development, Policy Development and Implementation and County Board Organization.
All of our county Farm Bureaus did outstanding jobs this year, but the Susquehanna County Farm Bureau demonstrated the highest level of excellence in a wide variety of program areas, resulting in major accomplishments over the past year. Their achievements not only benefitted farmers, but also strengthened relationships with consumers and the local community,” said PFB President Carl T. Shaffer.
Hundreds of farmers from across the state attended Pennsylvania Farm Bureau’s 61st Annual Meeting at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center from November 14-16, to set policy for the statewide organization on issues affecting farm and rural families.
